Ive started my interview journey with Linda the Munck for my branches project. She helped me get more insight in what someone who teaches in sex education online and is a example for many young females (and others) in the Netherlands thinks about this language.
Even though I already spoke with her via texts sometimes, she had been someone that i looked up to and i did feel really nervous when calling her. The answers that i got where things i probably already expected, next time i would have a different approach. I also asked Erika Lust, Goedele liekens and bobby eden but got no reply from any.

After that interview in had a lot of conversations-interviews with artists and photographers.
I have talked to Michelle, a fourth year student at KABK that makes beautiful photography. Her work has been featured in different magazines and platforms, i look up to her a lot. I really liked to have received such a long interview from someone in their last year and currently graduating. I think including this interview also shows how the academy can be in a few years.

I have talked to Wendy de Boer, a photographer a documentaire maker. Wendy is such a nice and open person. When i met her she was already very well known in the photography world and still working at Klm. She now quitted her job at Klm to make photography and videomaking her fulltime work. It is always super interesting to hear someone talk with such passion about what they do. The biggest learning point with this interview was that she showed me the commercial side of the photography world as well and how you should stay true to yourself.

I have talked to Sabine Dalmunder, she is an artist and photographer who earns her money with several workshops. I wanted to interview someone that is not working in the big field of art or photography but someone who is making money with it but not for a museum audience. I do not know if i will become a ‘photographer’ or ‘artist’ after Wdka.. What i do know is that i will always have art in my life and i would like to always be able to do something with it.

This is the same reason i interviewed Anna Batista, she makes paintings. The paintings that she sells go to a non profit charity. That is something that inspires me. Her interview was short but all answering. I loved seeing the way that Sabina and Anna looked at art, the differences but also the similarities with artists that aim for being published or artist that have a big name in the art world.

I found it very beautiful how open and honest they were. Through all answers ive heard to always stay true to myself as a photographer and artist, to be organized and build a network and most importantly to have fun while doing it. Not all of the artist had finished a study in art themselves but they all had a big passion for art and a drive to work with it and inspire others every day. I think this is the most important message of the interviews I have had. Hearing about their drive and visions, how they achieved what they do now and how to stay true to yourself through the process.

It was a big step for me to do these interviews, I get really insecure and panic. Even though some wanted to do it by text or memo (what allready downed my insecurity for a bit) , i still overcame such a big fear by asking them and interviewing them.
